Last July 27, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Tayum, Abra. Preliminary reports indicate that it was a very strong and shallow earthquake, causing more damage to properties and infrastructures. Aftershocks with magnitude ranging from 2.1 to 4.7 have been recorded throughout the day.

Save the Children left for Abra on July 29 to bring much-needed household kits, plastic sheets, jerry cans, and family hygiene kits for 1,000 households.

Children and families need your urgent help.

During these times, access to clean water is essential, so we have on the ready, a water treatment unit with the capacity to convert 3,000 liters of water for drinking.

Save the Children is geared up for any emergency response to help children and families affected by the earthquake. While we hope for the best, we need to prepare for the worst. In any emergency, the first 72 hours is critical, and it is in the spirit of readiness and agility that we are tapping your support.
